Abbey Road

Hospitality design

Scene of many of The Beatles’ later and most acclaimed recordings, this charismatic and now iconic studio tasked us, working alongside PRDP, with the complete refurbishment of its artists’ and staff restaurant and bar. The brief called for an adventurous design and we delivered in style, with an innovative concept and refit that was excitedly received by the client and users.

The original acoustic ceiling was retained and refurbished. Warm aubergine panelling was used in conjunction with mirror sections for the wall cladding, to add depth and to break up large areas of flat wall in an economical but effective manner. The horizontal effect of the panelling was echoed in the rich velvet upholstery of the banquette seating. Durable perforated aluminium panels were specified in conjunction with a crisp, continuous Corian worktop and stainless steel skirting for the service counters and bar. A feature back-painted glass front was used to accentuate the clean, fresh appearance of the produce in the drop-in chilled unit.

Complimentary materials and colours were specified for the modern, stackable free-standing furniture.
