The brief
Trees of Tranquility sculpture fountains are individually designed and created by artist/sculptor Mehrdad Tafreshi and hand made in Quist‘s workshop, situated in a tranquil location in deep woodlands in Surrey. Each unique copper tree sculpture – willow, oak, maple, beech and many more – is constructed primarily from copper and incorporates a water feature, creating a shimmering, gentle fountain. The effect of the beautifully constructed framework of trunk, branches and delicate twigs, each shaped, textured and detailed to reflect the intricate effects of natural bark, with individually cut and shaped leaves is complimented by the soothing sound of the water cascading through the sculpture.
An award-winning artist, Mehrdad also works in hand blown glass, combining this with copper stems and elegant elongated leaves, to create exotic groupings of primrose, iris, lily, sunflower blooms and buds in colours varying from deep, vibrant purples, reds and orange to gentle pastel yellows, blues and green. His sculptures and tree water features can vary in height and expanse from an intricate glass and copper arrangement or bonsai of approx. one metre high to copper tree fountains of over 18 metres with a canopy five metres wide.
Sculpture fountains have been installed in Cambridgeshire, Cowdray House, Las Vegas, London, Shanghai and Singapore to name but a few.
We were asked to design and create a website to promote his work.
Solution
We designed a WordPress based site which is rich in photographs to showcase the work. Parralax effects and slideshows are used to communicate the breadth of work. The site also has a blog to feature news and events that will be attended by Quist. The site is GDPR compliant. We completed basic SEO so the site appears on the first page of Google for relevant searches.
We also host the site on our server and provide email services.
Schedule
We were briefed on 10th January 2018 and the website was launched on 23rd May 2018.
Evaluation
We monitor site statistics and communications on an ongoing basis for Quist. Request for costs and information are received on a regular basis, especially after after events and exhibitions such as Chelsea Flower Show. An ecommerce element to the site is mooted and will be actioned soon.
