Set in the heart of the seafront hotel strip, our clients recognised the potential of turning this traditional hotel into a premium grade boutique offer, appealing to a new, more affluent audience.
An obvious feature of what must originally have been a substantial domestic residence was the wide variety of room types, ranging from large first floor fronts with sea views to a rear sub-basement with very little natural light.
The challenge was to make every room provide an enjoyable experience for all guests.
Each room was given its own colour scheme, with feature wallpapers, purpose-designed fitted furniture and a decorative bed-head. En-suite bathrooms were all individually designed, with fixtures and fittings to suit the size and style of the accommodation. A Jacuzzi with hidden wall-washing LED lights enlivens one of the basement rooms.
The ground floor reception, bar and restaurant are finished with rich, exotic wallpapers and upholstery fabrics, complimentary deep paint colours, a dark oak reclaimed timber floor with matching dark framed furniture, combined with careful lighting to create atmosphere and drama. Bright and reflective surfaces are used to contrasting effect on the bar.
