Associate senior interior designer
After qualifying from the Royal College of Art with a Masters degree in Design, Vin worked for the Conran Design Group for two years before moving on to join the in-house design department for Hertfordshire County Council, then to Murdoch Design Associates as a senior designer. He became a Director of Murdochs in 1970 and managed major projects for B.A.A. including Terminal 2 Heathrow Airport, Queen Alia Airport Jordan and the Food Court at South Terminal Gatwick. Other clients included Ford UK, British Sugar Corporation, Allied Breweries, Callendars Bar Cafe Concept, Imperial Inns & Taverns and Sealink.
In 1987 he founded Parker Roberts Design Partnership, providing specialist interior design for the food service and leisure industries. Over the years their clients have included the BBC, McDonalds, Aramark plc, Cornhill Insurance, Leeds Metropolitan University, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Opera House and Shell UK.
In 2002 Vin joined Tangent Partnership as Managing Consultant. With us he has managed projects for Credit Suisse First Boston, Abbey Road Studios, St Fagans National Museum of History, University of Wales Trinity Saint David plus numerous hotel, bar and high street restaurant designs and installations. He has been instrumental in the development of Tangent’s Coordinated Procurement Management system, which has resulted in average savings of 25 for our clients on their fit-out costs. With his many years of experience in the design industry, Vin believes that the best work comes out of small or medium sized practices with a hands-on approach.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Society of Design and the Royal Society of Arts.
